About Crux Search
Crux Search is the web search engine from Crux Interactive. It pairs ranked results with CruxAI, and works with the same Crux ID as CruxAI, Crux Cloud, Crux Calendar and the rest of the Crux apps.
Where do results come from?
Web, news, video and image results come from independent search indexes, then Crux Search ranks them with its own signals: how well a page matches your words, whether it’s an official or reference source, how recent it is when freshness matters, and which results people chose for the same search.
What is a CruxAI Overview?
A short answer at the top of some searches, written by CruxAI from the results on the page. Each sentence cites the result it came from, so you can check it. You can turn Overviews off in Settings.
What is AI Mode?
A conversation for questions that need more than one search. CruxAI runs several searches, reads the results, and answers with sources. Follow-up questions keep the context. AI Mode needs a free Crux ID.
Does Crux Search track me?
Searches aren’t sold or used for ads. Signed out, nothing is tied to you. Signed in, history saves to your Crux ID only if you leave it on, and you can delete it any time.
Can I make Crux Search my default?
Yes in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Brave: open Crux Search, then pick it in the browser’s search engine settings. Safari only offers its built-in list, so set Crux Search as your homepage there instead.
