Privacy at Crux Search
This page explains how Crux Search handles searches. The Crux Interactive Privacy Policy covers everything else.
Signed Out
Searches aren’t tied to you. Your IP address is turned into a one-way hash for rate limiting and isn’t stored with what you searched. Settings stay in a cookie in your browser.
Signed In With a Crux ID
When Save Search History is on, your searches are kept in your Crux ID so suggestions can include them. You can delete one search, the last hour, the last day or everything in Search History, or turn saving off in Settings. AI Mode conversations are saved so you can continue them, and you can delete them from AI Mode.
Results from your Crux apps (CruxAI chats, Cloud files and Calendar events) are looked up when you search and shown only to you. They’re never cached, logged or sent to search providers.
What Helps Ranking
When someone opens a result, Crux Search counts it against a one-way hash of the search and the page address. No account, IP address or time of the click is stored with it. Popular searches are counted per day, and only searches without personal details appear in trends.
Partners
Your search words are sent to the search index that provides results and, for CruxAI Overviews and AI Mode, to CruxAI’s model provider. They don’t receive your Crux ID, name or email. Site icons and images load through Crux Search, so websites in your results don’t see your IP address until you visit them.
Ads
Crux Search has no ads and doesn’t sell or share searches for advertising.
